Jazz

Jazz is a cultural phenomenon of the 20th century. Its origin and formation starts in the 1910s, in the southern United States.

Jazz is gaining popularity and expanding its geography. The developed countries starts to show interest in it. The original style of playing was influenced by the regional musical characteristics, they added originality to this direction. In the 1920s jazz began to be identified with popular music, but it kept itself apart from the commercial music industry in the United States.

In the first half of the 20th century this music style is actively developing and changing.

The jazz as we know it was created in the 1950s, it finally formed as a style.

A set of features is distinguished in jazz, they can be found in most varieties of this genre:

  • swing,
  • expressiveness,
  • improvisation,
  • reliance on rhyme,
  • using frets with blues notes.

Finally jazz crossed the border of the contemporary art sphere and took one of the main positions. This style remains incredibly popular today.
